Project Description
The 352 steps revival is a project that restores the lost connection(disconnectivity)with the city itself and revives the area with stairs connecting two main streets to become a green lung through some service improvements that the marginalized residents need by exploiting abandoned buildings to meet their needs on the educational, recreational, religious level..etc this had helped the importance of the stair historically, in tourism and geography and thus it can be an attractive element for tourists coming to explore the local community and learn about the culture, history of the region this leads to improving the quality of life for locals
what makes this stair unique since the stairs of ancient Amman are considered one of the prominent features imposed by the topography of the Amman region because it is based on several mountains that set the presence of stairs on moving from its foothills to its peaks, such as the seventh staircase known as the ministry of finance stair, it is the highest one with several 352 steps its length reached 129.7 as it is located in a vital area close to archaeological landmarks …slope has made this place different than others because it has a good view that is will be used while reusing abandoned buildings in addition, it is located in one of the most important streets in the emergence of Amman, it is the most used streets in the region & this area has not been previously studied
targeted groups of the project locals first meet their needs & provide service improvements & then tourists by making them interact with locals this leads to improving their cultural level & their quality of life
project goals are transforming these abandoned areas & reviving them to become a vital areas, transferring a vacant site into a vibrant spot, and preserving the cultural heritage in Amman in a way that serves
the population of that region, variety of activities increase the quality of users’ experience, brings character into the newly developed area, the possibility of exploiting roof, and adding modern artistic spaces while preserving the true identity of public spaces without distorting or obliterating by identifying the surrounding cultural heritage elements to encourage spatial integration, developing opportunities and using them to improve locals quality of life, service improvements, attention to these stairs to be an additional prominent tourist attraction, let the tourists feel that they are part of the locals the experience that they will live (be a local, not a tourist ) and fulfilments residents
