Project Description

Serene Village – Ha Tien Meditation Center was created as a peaceful place where people can escape the stress of daily life, find calm, and reconnect with nature. The project is located by a quiet river on the edge of Ha Tien, surrounded by rice fields, soft daylight, and a gentle natural landscape. It is not only a place for meditation, but also a community space that supports mindfulness, kindness, and human connection.

The project reflects a young architect’s care for mental well-being, seeing meditation and architecture as two ways to support healing. Nature is used as a source of peace, while architecture helps create simple order and a calm rhythm for the mind. With friendly and easy-to-use spaces, the project brings mindfulness closer to daily life and makes it accessible to everyone.

The design combines traditional values with modern ideas. The center includes meditation halls, resting areas, tea spaces, and community spaces, all arranged to face open views of the river. The master plan follows the natural land, creating a series of connected spaces with different feelings some open and spacious, others quiet and shaded. Blurring the boundary between interior and exterior through nature. These spaces guide visitors step by step toward calm and self-healing.

Sustainability is an important part of the project. Natural ventilation and daylight help reduce energy use, while soft transitions between inside and outside allow trees, plants, and fresh air to enter the buildings. Local materials such as wood, stone, and bamboo are used to reduce environmental impact and respect local culture.

In the end, Serene Village – Ha Tien Meditation Center is more than a retreat. It is a place for healing, reflection, and peaceful living in today’s world.
