  • Project Site Location (City, Country): Phu Quy Island, Binh Thuan Province, Vietnam.
  • Project coordinates on google maps: 108o55′ to 108o58′ East longitude and from 10o29′ to 10o33′ North latitude.
  • Project Function: Connecting people to live, study, preserve and develop the unique cultural values of the local area.
  • The research process is based on natural elements, with a design philosophy that creates a balance of people – architecture – nature. Continue to a futuristic scene of local tourism economic development promoting new architectural changes without losing the inherent, unspoiled natural value of an island.
Architectural works act as a part of nature, participating in the development process for a common whole. Here, the idea comes from the inspiration of recreating the image of the volcano as well as the erupting lava ruins associated with the history of the island’s formation. integrate into the context and interact with the existing rock formations of nature. The building blocks are gently implanted into the terrain so as not to disrupt the nature, on the other hand, exploit the spaces of nature in terms of vision, light, wind direction, terrain difference and perception. weather context.
The architectural planning orientation creates axes to recall the alley space connecting to the coastal rocks, showing the correlation of the traffic axis function for people and tourists and connecting with the context of the surrounding areas. neighborhood.
The architecture creates a building with local characteristics through the reuse of local materials, especially Quanh stone. In addition, bringing a spiritual element to the people, exchanging and learning about the culture, customs and identity of the region while preserving the traditional craft villages related to the fading pineapple tree in the future.
    Design goals:
+ Architecture creates a project with typical regional elements, showing the closeness, rusticity and connection with people. Besides, bringing a spiritual element to the people here related to the history, the process of reclaiming the island and the volcanic eruption to form the rocks, which is a characteristic element of Phu Quy island.
+ Preserve and promote traditional craft villages related to the local tree here, which is sea thorn pineapple, and at the same time promote the development of raft village tourism, creating income values for people.

The inspiration comes from recreating the past image of the craters, and at the same time conveying space through architecture between humans and nature to evoke a historical process of forming the island. The architectural space is formed in a familiar, natural and close to the surrounding context by using local materials. Besides these raw materials, the soul of an architectural work is exuded and there is a connection with the existing stone areas.Using nature to overcome nature through the beveled architectural shapes of the surfaces, limiting the impact of storms on the building, and at the same time creating a space to change the height from the outside to the center of the park. The process is like bringing people back to nature. At the same time, the natural space creates an experience that affects people emotionally, receiving the light and salinity of the local area. The building design philosophy exists with time and space, the rule of symbiosis with nature “using nature to respond to nature” to develop sustainably in an environment with strong weather effects. In the future, the building will be a part of nature and will guide the architecture in the coming time, in the direction between the wildness, majesty and human nature here in an age that is moving towards industrialization.
