Project Description

The phrase “unsteady” reflects the deep connection of the Mekong Delta people with the vast waters, where the river is both a vital resource and a foundation of cultural values. The project in Cái Răng, Can Tho, located in a former fishing village, draws inspiration from this profound bond with the river. Its architecture is designed to harmonize with the river’s flow and embodies the fusion of built structures with nature, illustrating ecological and sustainable design principles.

The design embraces a symbiotic relationship with nature, particularly by utilizing the region’s unique tidal patterns. Situated at the intersection of architecture and natural environment, the site facilitates a dynamic spatial interaction between architectural elements and the ecosystem. During high tides, river water enters the ceremonial hall, fostering a multidimensional dialogue between architecture, people, and the surrounding ecosystem. This interaction not only alters the physical structure but also enriches spatial and emotional experiences, demonstrating adaptable architecture and flexible envi

The project elegantly balances local and modern architectural elements, integrating sustainable and ecological design principles with regional cultural aspects. It celebrates the interaction between architecture and environment, enhancing aesthetic value and contributing to sustainability and integration within the natural and cultural context.
