Project Description

One of the global crises comes from the effects of pollution. One of the alternatives has a historical importance to Bangladesh which is Jute. This project on jute diversification and promotion aims to help with such a global issue and revive a dead industry by encouraging and spreading awareness of green technology.

Prevention of pollution:

The project encourages the prevention of plastic pollution globally. Showing Jute’s diversity and sustainability sets a good example in promoting alternative plastic materials like Jute.

Nature and Agriculture:

Promoting jute production aids in agricultural development. The rich nature surrounding the site also benefits the people and the mills, preserving the ecosystem.

Awareness and Involvement:

The project encourages community engagement through exhibitions, workshops, training centers, and playgrounds for children, thus promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices of a community.

Innovation and Industrialization:

‘Sonali Bag’ made of jute, inspires innovations in plastic alternative manufacturing. It aims to rejuvenate the jute mills industry and have a great impact greatly in industrialization.

Employment and Economy:

Increasing the demand for jute and the reopening of the mills will contribute to economic growth, opening opportunities, and increasing employment.

Though jute has plenty of potential, it isn’t being taken advantage of, mostly due to a lack of promotion. Thus, the project aims to create a center that is dedicated to showcasing the diverse uses of jute. By reviving the abandoned mills used for jute itself, the project engages people with this material and promotes the contribution in many sectors. Above all, the awareness it provides markets the adoption of plastic alternatives.
