Project Description
A railway station in Acre that redefines mobility as a collective act of reconnection, linking the Mediterranean coast with the cities of the West Bank. Inspired by the movement of waves and Acre’s historic walls, the project transforms transportation into an experience of unity, return, and continuity.
Project Description: The Eurasia Railway Station in Acre reimagines what a train station can represent in a liberated Palestine. More than a transit hub, it is a symbol of reconnection — linking Palestinian coastal cities with the West Bank and healing decades of imposed fragmentation. Strategically located between Acre’s historic center and its seaport, the station embraces the Mediterranean horizon, turning the former symbol of separation into one of opportunity and freedom.
Architecturally, the design draws inspiration from the sea. The station’s roof begins with dynamic, broken wave-like forms, reflecting past turbulence and division. As the structure progresses, these forms align into calmer, ordered lines — representing a shift toward unity and continuity. At its heart, a large, dome-like canopy gathers travelers in a shared space of arrival and departure, symbolizing reunion and collective movement forward.
The project unfolds across several levels: arrivals represent return, departures reflect the freedom to move, while intermediate levels host cultural and recreational programs. These floors are connected through green terraces, offering space for rest, gathering, and reflection. Sound and light enhance the sensory experience — the subtle echo of waves and natural illumination mirror the rhythm of sea and sky.
The Eurasia Railway Station stands as a hopeful architectural statement — not a monument to struggle, but a gateway to a future of mobility, connection, and renewal in a unified Palestinian landscape.
