Project Description

The project is a social rehabilitation project that targets homeless children and works to rehabilitate them after they suffered from homelessness and deprivation of their most basic rights as children and were rejected by the community. Therefore, the project works to rehabilitate them through several stages that they go through when they enter the project, starting from the reception stage until the last stage for them in The project represented by the interaction arena

The project consists of several sections: administrative – health – educational – vocational – cultural – recreational – residential

Through these departments, children are developed and educated to be ready to reintegrate into society and to prepare a new life for them to become influential and valuable in society, in addition to changing people’s perception of them from being just abandoned children without a goal to successful youth with an impact on society.

Children are brought to the complex either by the community police or by social researchers.

When the homeless enters the complex for the first time, an open yard receives him, and then he is examined in the health department to ensure his health, and then he moves to the administrative department and registers him.

Then comes the rehabilitation stage represented by three sections, which are educational, vocational and cultural. Through these sections, the child is trained, developed and prepared for the last stage represented by the space of interaction and testing the success of rehabilitation. In this arena and the last event, the child’s integration with other children in the neighboring residential neighborhood is tested and in order for the residents to interact with them to change their view of children.

The project is subject to the oversight and supervision of the Iraqi Ministry of Labor and Community Affairs, in addition to UNICEF and civil society organizations, to ensure the application of the highest standards of quality and development in qualifying this important group.
