Project Description
Developing the temporary (Baleh ) market in Zarqa.
It is about developing and upgrading spatial organization in the Al-Bala commercial market region in Zarqa, close to the commercial core, and establishing a civilized commercial space.
Thinking of Project.
The region is recognized for its close access to public transportation terminals. The neighborhood seems to be unorganized from the outside, and its organization is depending on the conduct of the employees and residents, given that its growth will be a watershed moment on several levels.
Site conditions.
The region is considered Slums form and expand for a variety of causes. Rapid rural-to-urban migration, economic stagnation and depression, hig unemployment, poverty, informal economy, forced or managed ghettoization, bad planning, politics, natural calamities, and social conflicts are among the causes.
Informal Economy
Informal economy is that part of an economy that is neither registered as a business nor licensed, one that does not pay taxes and is not monitored by local or state or federal government. Informal economy grows faster than formal economy.
STORY OF PROJECT
The project involves the rehabilitation of the Zarqa neighborhood’s secondhand clothing market, which is next to the Zarqa camp. The Zarqa camp, which is situated adjacent to the railroad, first appeared when it was established, and so did this market. The region has grown to be a burden over time, and the market that was once known as the railway market is now one of the most well-known used clothing markets.
Due to its proximity to the camp, the lack of a centralized organization for the street markets, and the region’s transformation into a hidden, nearly undetectable place that is unsafe to cross, there are humanitarian and societal issues for the locals. The goal of the project is to reorganize these markets architecturally and define each person’s personal space by utilizing the land next to the railroad and transforming it into a space that belongs to and was created for humans. This will provide a safe crossing area for everyone in the city as well as a human area for children, and an attempt will be made to link the commercial market with this area to transform it into more than just a market.
In the same way that the residents of this city, the children, and the camp residents hope for the return of their area to a comfortable, fit residential area free from issues, disturbances, and invisible areas that put their lives in danger, I hope for the area to become a place of salvation and development for what is around it as well as for the return of free and safe spaces in the city of Zarqa.
