The Project aims to retain original identity of Fayum city with a twist of modernity. The project offers a comprehensive program that combines academic studies with specialized training in traditional crafts by providing them with a unique opportunity to pursuer their passion for handmade crafts while acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in these professions.

Project Description

CONCEPT

The Main concept revolves around increasing user innovation by facilitating collaboration and integration between indoor & outdoor. To achieve this, every craft zone has interactive COURT that serve as gathering spaces where students can engage in interactive activities related to their crafts. Beside that there is a MAIN PLAZA that is designed as a hub of creativity and collaboration, with various craft zones surrounding it.

PROJECT DESCRIBTION

The project consists of (Theoretical zone, Craft Zone, Commercial Zone) that target secondary students. 1. Education Zone — Classes that allow students to continue their high school education. 2. Craft Zone — Zones to teach handmade crafts and their techniques connected to educational zone (design studios) to teach each craft it’s needs. 3. Commercial zone — Small shops that allow students to show their products and sell it.

VISION & GOALS

Our vision is to transform the lives of students who face obstacles in continuing their education by providing them with a unique opportunity to pursuer their passion for handmade crafts while acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in these professions. We aim to break down the barriers that often lead students to drop out of education, such as family reluctance, financial constrains and the need to work for immediate income. By offering a comprehensive program that combines academic studies with specialized training in traditional crafts. Ultimately, the project aims to reduce the unemployment rate and inspire students to contribute to the culture heritage of traditional crafts.

SITE LOCATION

This Site Location is strategically positioned near main road, ensuring easy accessibility for students, staff & visitors. Also Providing the main train station of the governorate and 2 bus stations near the site provides multiple transportation options, this is beneficial for students that relay on public transportation as well as staff and visitors who may prefer different modes of travel. Moreover, the proposed markets nearby offer significant marketing opportunities for the school products” handcrafted products. it also opens a door for potential collaborations with local businesses, enabling the school to tap into a wider customer base and enhance its brand visibility. overall, this site location offers numerous advantages that contribute to reach success and effectiveness of the project.
