Project Description
Aroma House is an Experimental Aromatic Oil extraction project, it focuses on the
manufacturing of perfume and providing workshops to engage society and present a new industry in Jordan. After analyzing the context of the site and understanding the resident’s needs, there was a need for the residents to find a place to sell their products. As they create a lot of
products from their farming, people in alkoura have a culture of agriculture, there is no home in alkoura without sagebrush and mint cultivation.. The fact that the residents already have skills of agriculture, then convincing them that farming different roses and aromatic plants won’t be a hard job when they find out that it comes with much more money than farming for food and beverages. Since it’s a new industry, then the presence of training programs and educational spaces is a must, that trainers can graduate and open their own businesses and create their brands. Based on the residents need and project requirements, the general spaces of the project are: 01 Aromatic oil extraction and perfume-making : labs to produce aromatic oils from plants and manufacture it into perfume A space to produce fragrance on site foster the ancient practice where oil is extracted through flower petals via methods of steaming and distillation. 02 Skill Development Center 03 aromatic plants garden: featuring plants typically used in the creation of perfume.04 herbarium: The herbarium is like a library but differs in that the information is stored in a biological form––as pressed, dried, and annotated plant specimens. herbarium is like a library but differs in that the information is stored in a biological form––as pressed, dried, and annotated plant specimens.05 entertainment/ meditation (aromatherapy): produce fragrance on site and buy the manufactured products. Experimental aromatic oil extraction project, it focuses on the manufacturing of perfume and providing workshops to engage the society and present a new industry in Jordan. The Jordanian economy is facing challenging conditions for several reasons. Jordan is rich in many natural resources that we need to exploit today. A a large part of them is available in economic quantities and excellent quality, based
on geological works andstudies.
Why this project?

for Jordanian products abroad.
Agricultural sector in Jordan employs 15% of the labor force in the country, The
Jordanian agriculture land is significant, with 8.9 million dunums2 divided into
three main climatic geographical areas. Aromatic and medicinal plants in Jordan, a
viable trade locally and in Europe the climatic conditions in Jordan help the production of medicinal and aromatic plants of high quality and are considered these products among the most important export crops to Europe and the Arab countries,
given the high demand for them and their distinctive prices.
The future vision of Irbid Governorate
Irbid Governorate is considered the first agricultural region in Jordan.Irbid is a
leading agricultural and tourism governorate capable of creating an added value
to provide job opportunities for its people and improve their standard of living.koura..the home of aromatic plants March 2009 / Municipality of Barqash proposed
the setup of a project entitled “Aromatic and Medicinal Oils Factory. “the factory
will extract the oils of sagebrush, thyme, marjoram, chamomile, mallow and nettle
and market them, as the economic feasibility study for the project, proved that the
oils of these plants are world-class.
sales – total annual cost = 222750-67340=155410 / the project will cover the cost
in the first year
Conceptual Approached Design

Referring to the aroma structure to start there, The fragrance pyramid is the composition of a fragrance. The composition is composed of fragrance notes, or ingredients,
that create the scent. The three notes are top notes, mid (or heart) notes, and base
(or dry-down) notes. reflecting each as one of my 3 main spaces :
1 top note: the entertaining retail part of the project (shops, restaurants, museum…)
2 middle note: the transition zone of the project containing the skill development
center and a part of the distillery machines rooms for both visitors and the factory
– distillery machines were seen from the outdoor spaces too when you sit in the restaurant –
3 top note: the most important parts of the project: the factory and the space were
perfume is exported and ready for trading
