Project Description

The Al-Hamma revitalization project aims to transform this historically rich village in northern Jordan into a vibrant social and cultural hub that celebrates its natural beauty and heritage. Known for its ancient thera-peutic hot springs and stunning landscapes, Al-Hamma has struggled due to economic decline and deteriorating infrastructure. This project seeks to rejuvenate the area by creating an immersive tourist path that highlights local heritage, handmade crafts, and traditional products, all while promoting interaction between tourists and the local community.

At the heart of the project is the development of a social and cultural hub, designed as a series of interconnected courtyards and public spaces. These areas will host cultural events, workshops, and exhibi-tions, providing tourists with opportunities to engage directly with local residents and artisans. The hub will showcase traditional crafts, music, and food, turning the region into a living museum of Jordanian culture. It will serve as a marketplace for locally produced goods, including handcrafted items made by women, offering tourists a chance to pur-chase unique souvenirs.

By creating this dynamic cultural hub, the project fosters a sense of belonging for both locals and visitors. It aims to strengthen the com-munity’s social fabric while generating new economic opportunities, reviving Al-Hamma as a key destination for cultural exploration and tourism.
